Then we are reached by the extremely sad news that Ander “Shorty” Larsson has also left this earth. Apparently Jimi needed another drummer to jam with – apparently Mitch Mitchell and Bosse Skoglund were not enough. Previously, he had been helped in the rhythm section by our eminent bassist Pär David Johnsson. One wonders what they are doing up there in heaven – all those wonderful musicians. Well, in time we will find out.
Shorty played his wonderfully beautiful orange Ludwig set with the Nazz for a few years in the 60s. And together we created a strange mixture of pop, rock and blues. I especially remember one time when we were the warm-up band for Ola and the Janglers, and the whole band, with drummer Leif Johansson in the lead, stood and watched from the wings when Shorty hit the intro to “Get Out Of My Life Woman”. All the Janglers had their chins well down on their chests. He certainly showed them who’s the Boss!
After The Nazz disbanded, Shorty made himself known as a miraculously skilled lighting designer in the royal capital. There he delighted both a large audience and his colleagues at Galeasen and Teater Guiljotin with his fantastic witchcraft in the sign of light. We all remember him with great sadness!
